Cannot Install Beyond the Sword

Beware, this is a long post! Anyway.....first off, my computer broke, and I had to send it to a repair guy (who uninstalled everything on it). So when I finally got it back, I installed Civ IV, which worked fine. Then I tried to install Beyond the Sword, only to find that I had lost Disc 2 (after I put in Disc 1), so I had no choice but to cancel the installation. A couple weeks later I found disc 2, so I put in disc 1.....and instead of the installation screen popping up, that box that has "play" and "exit" showed up. And of course when I clicked play nothing happened, because it wasn't installed. Why the heck is this happening?

If you can't uninstall it (add/remove programs), then go to c:\program files\installshield installation information\ (or thereabouts, it's a hidden folder, change it to allow viewing them; and this may vary for Vista/Windows 7) and find the folder that corresponds to the civ4 installation (you can guess by the dates, or by opening the .ini files; it probably is \program files\installshield installation information\32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989) and then delete it (the whole folder); that should cause Installshield to think you've not installed it before.
