    New question

In demographics/stats I see the Imports/Exports row and I would like to know what does it show (just don't reply "Imports/Exports" lolol).
I'm no.1 in every aspect of this game (land, population, soldiers, gold, products, etc.) but I can't get no.1 in Imports/Exports cause I do not understand what does it stand for.

    Thanks for any replies!

It's probably trade routes. You need open borders plus lot of buildings that boost trade routes (harbors, customs houses, etc.)

Well, I was thinking the same but it must not be this cause I have lots of trade routes and ports/etc. and should be no.1...but not.

        Maybe it's traded resources then.

Or, maybe it's totally made up. I mean, it doesn't affect gameplay and doesn't seem to be an indicator of how well you're doing in the game (not like the power graph, for example).

I still can't say that I understand what's this imports/exports value but anyway I can live with it

In my last several games, I'm actually been dead last a lot at the end of the game in imports/exports (with lots of open borders)

Didn't seem to slow down my victory any. It's coming from massive negative number, whatever that is supposed to mean.

I often build corporations and export spare resources for extra copies of Corporation resources.

My impression is that imports/exports is how much from trade routes you are getting from other civs vs. what other civs are getting from you.

... or visa versa; I don't know which.

If you're the one with the most/biggest cities, you will be getting more in foreign trade, but if there are lots of civs out there to trade with, they will get much more from you in aggregate.

That makes sense. Without thinking about it too much, I assumed it was the amount of trades you had going with the other leaders. Fish for gold for example.

If you check the WB, you will see it reflects the amount of gold your cities are receiving from trade routes (imports) versus the amount of gold AI cities are receiving in trade from your cities (exports). If you get more than you give the result is positive, if you give more than you get, the result is negative. If you implement mercantilism, the result is 0/0 on the chart which usually won't put you in last place. I find myself often in last place with too many inland cities (which can't get harbors or custom houses), or not enough income in specific cities (which causes high trade route values in the "rich" cities).

Thanks; I guess you could take this as if your rating is negative, you shouldn't be backing the UN resolution that gives everybody an extra trade route.

It depends how good you are at specialising your cities. An extra route in your Oxford city (and possibly in your Wall St city) may give more benefit to you than to the AI.
