  • Where to settle next?

After capturing the Babylon cities, I then turn my attention to improving and expanding my ecomony, but I have abosoutely no idea where I should place my next settler. Note, this is modded... and yes, those are LEMON tiles (+1, +1) a good food source,.

Plot A has a lot of good commerce (two gold tiles), and a horse tile (I already have horses), but its mostly plains and desert. Note the settler near the center of that plot.

Plot B is closer to the borders of my existing borders (NOT overlaping for awhile), and will capture a iron tile from the AI (north), and a dye tile.

Plot C is very far away, but has cow, gold, wheat, and two wine tiles.

So where do you think I should go next?

Since I don't know the mod, I can't be certain, but of all the spots I looked at I'd probably say B just because it helps cut off enemy expansion and I don't like your other picks.

There's a dearth of water out there so I'd try to place my cities so each gets at least 1 good food bonus or is coastal. You need more coastal plots.

You definitely don't want to settle C. That's a big waste of a Gold resource building a city over top of it. And get the BUG mod, the latest version allows you to mark your city locations with the full BFC outlined.

I'd probably settle the square to the north-west of the dye, it's got food, commerce and hammers and is good for blocking off the AI. I'd settle to the east of the wheat next.

What does the hemp do? Extra hammer and happy?

Hemp should be -1 +1 +1 - double with pacifism!

I'd go B-ish and then try to use the rivers/coasts more as someone said.

            I square east of C.
River square with enough food to work the gold and horses.

Agree with Rah. Given the barreness of this zone put your cities on the water with food resources if you can.

I can't help you without a map; I always look at how a city site will impact other future city sites before deciding where and what order.

                        Thanks for posting the map.
Anyway, my methology would first be decide where future infill wine city in a city wide gap would go, so I'd place that one just south of that wine.
Then I'd decide where the Marijuana city goes; map not big enough but I can see it won't really impact the placement of the rest (It would either by the grassland river two tiles west or the plains one tile west of Marijuana.)
Now with that prelimaries out of the way:
I would agree with the map placement of A
I disagree with placement of B: I'd move that one further west along the river. (I'd have another city off the map to the north take in that Iron. [I see there might be an AI in the way, perhaps conquer it.])
I disagree with placement of C: I'd move that one north off the gold mine so you'd get full value from that gold.
We now need a city to take in the cow C doesn't pick up along with the wine in the area: I'd place that one along the coast, not sure at this point if on the forest hill or flat grassland.
And we need a city to take in the Lemon: Just North west of it looks good.
And also a city to take in that Horse: Just northwest of that looks good as well.

                        Now order:
                        First City A
Second City C as I've moved it.
                        Third Marajuna city.
                        Fourth Horse choke point city.
Fifth: Iron city off map if there's still room for it since I don't know exactly where that AI city is.
                        Sixth: B as modified.
                        Seven: Western Wine/Cow city.
Eight: That infill wine city I first picked placed.
                        Nine: Lemon City.
