Then one of my least favorite people, EVER, makes his appearance:

    Followed shortly by:

Suleiman spent most of the game trying to decide whose ***** he wanted to be. He was a vassal of China, Ethopia, and the Inca multiple times. Let's just say he was even less of a factor than Hannibal as far as I was concerned.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

At the same time, I've sent the boys across the border to repay Joao for his incursion. We lost a few units, but Evora fell.

I didn't like the placement of Evora, so it too burned to the ground. This also freed my forces to continue to push towards Coimbra. Incidentally a small barbarian force got there as I did and after I weakened it the barbs took the city. The next turn I took it from the barbs, and Joao decided he'd had enough. Well, sort of. I approached him and he still wanted some minor reparations from me (60 gold I think) and all things considered I had had enough also. A peace agreement was reached.

          The known world, 10 AD:

As you can see, Portugal has 7 cities. Actually he conquered one barb city SW of the Dutch and will soon capture Gepid, so he would have had at least 11 had I not slowed his progress. It also opened room for my expansion, and stopped him cutting me off from the former Mongol cities.

It did not, however, stop the Chinese from taking advantage and moving up the coast. After scouting out China and dropping my GSpy in Portugal, it seemed I would need to move quickly in order to stop the Chinese from cutting off the Mongol cities from my heartland. Can an empire get a break here?!

If this were further along I could say, "The bombing begins in 5 minutes".

It is fitting as you play the Native Americans, but it's a shame you don't have the Russians as your competitors.

"My fellow Americans, I’m pleased to tell you today that I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."

I'll stop hijacking your thread now, sorry

Roger the no one seeing it part. I think it's fine right here. Would be better if it proceeded at a bit more peppy pace.

A thought at that. I am an amatuer at loading screen shots and such, but I do play a lot (20 hours a week). I'll get back to all, but I do like Theben's recent themes ("play it through" -- don't quit until defeat is assured, now storytelling. Hmm.
