Oh in real life I don't quite agree with slavery, caste systems, theocracies, "whipping", war in general, state property, closed borders, police states and a lot more of what we use in Civ IV. So I suppose I could throw in a genocide without feeling i stepped over my megalomaniac computer game self moral boundaries.

As far as the UN, I had force-vassalized all nations except one (which I previously had reduced to an archipelago existence). Plus, it wasn't built

Sarco, laying waste to the whole world is harder than it looks. The AI will resettle in areas left open by your crusading armies and navies. In most of my games, the AIs have a settler or two waiting to deploy. These may be left over from the expansion phase or whatever. Burning a city to the ground leaves space for another. Unless you actively patrol they will fill that space with at least one city.

Actually, there's a clever way to try the UN victory with your best friend being #2.

Get someone else (#3, say) to build the UN Then it's always them and you up for voting, and not your friend.

Winning conquest games in OCC is similar. You have to patrol to catch the ai resettling.

That was what taught me to skip that victory in that mode.
