  • Which victory to choose?

Hello. My current game has me wondering a little about how to finish it.

I am ahead of the AI in tech, and have military power to take on most of the AI at once, I have conquered my continent so all wars require invasions. The Koreans and Egyptians who previously shared it with me are now alive only in some islands (Koreans are my vassal, Egypt is a vassal of the Indians who are my friends and number two in score).

So basically I can win in any way except culturally though a diplo victory might require an awful lot of bribes.

So ... which way will be quickest or most rewarding, do you guys think? Conquest, domination or just sitting at home doing the space race? I just can't decide

I usually start a new game at this point, but if you are going to play it out I recommend space victory (short) or domination (longer).

    Cheers,
    Eric

Try to time it so you get domination or conquest on teh same turn as the SS victory.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I doubt you could get a Dip win even with bribes. Cultural might not be impossible if you use corporations.

I'll go for cultural or diplo next game I think. This one, well I suppose I'll start a war and just capture cities until i get domination.

            Re: Which victory to choose?

Sounds to me like there are 3 reasonably quick paths:

            1. If AP hasn't expired yet and you have possesion of it; then you might be able to steal a Diplomatic Relgious victory by:
            A. Spreading it to all your cities.
            B. Making sure everyone else has at least one city.
            C. Spreading it to all you vasals who are practing Free Religion.
            D. Bribe everyone whose state religion is the AP religion into switching to Free Religion starting with your vassals. This may also involve gifting them Liberalism.

            2. You can found Sushi and/or Creative Construction to make for an easy cultural victory.

            3. And space ship victories don't take much more time, certinatly less than fighting an overseas war. (Note I am refering to game time spent, not turns)

UN diplomatic victory appears to be out for the moment with your best friend probably being eligible for it and thus voting for himself instead of you.

Do whichever one you don't do often. That way you'll get some experience pulling it off.

Yes, I usually end up doing the space race (or quitting) so I'm going for domination now. It's kind of fun, soon I'll have gunships and modern armor .

Almost never have had to use the modern era units so I'm enjoying it.

Thanks Joncunn, I'll make sure to use some of those methods in the next game

Domination almost always precedes conquest unless you are into laying waste to a lot of cities and infrastructure. Some here claim you can trigger both in the same turn but seems unlikely to me. I seldom do Space Race, so I think I'll try that next. We'll see.

i was forced to do a space win to eek out a victory in my last prince game. It was bonkersnuts.

We had global civic: environmentalism forced down our collective throats, so I said "WERE LEAVIN THIS PLANET BIOTCHES"

Thats when i realized "hey, 25% increase to corporation maitenance costs... HRMMMM ECONOMIC WARFAER TIEM!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I then viciously spread three corporations to every one of my competitors cities, hoping that that cash flow to my mega-capital would keep me in good shape, while I viciously bankrupted them.

Oops. One of them was the aluminum co.

The ai builds spaceships rly fast when they are provided the aluminum to do so.

Yes, I did actually consider razing every single city except my own, but I decided that I'd probably be insanely bored before I'd done half.

I'm bored already with moving ever so slowly in enemy terrain but I think I'll actually finish it.

                            There!

After defeating Saladin and capturing a barbarian city, i had 63.09% of land area. Sigh.

So I sent 20 transports to India and backstabbed my dear friends until they capitulated. Normalized score of 52959 iirc which is much more than I've had before. It was fun to warmonger for a change :E

Plus, genocide is wrong, and you'd have to fight the U.N. too.
