Funny thing happened with oil on my last game. I was playing french, going great and resisting every single attack by geeky Justinian and Hannibal the Cannibal, when I finally discover Combustion... I must say that I'm almost winning the game, so I shouldn't be whining, but COME ON!!!

I have almost the required territory to win by domination, a lot of deserts, some good ex-jungle terrain, and got NO OIL! Lousy Frederick has some oil, and Justinian the Fair has 4 or 5 oil! Not even coast oil to beeline to plastics... I don't peek on the editor (I think it takes out the thrill), but I deserved at least one.

Well, looks like I'll just trample Justinian with inf boots.

Does this mean you haven't researched scientific method yet and hadn't revealed the oil yet?

I went first for Combustion because I wanted the Creative Inc. and Frederick already had Combustion; then I researched Science - all the cool bonuses triggered by it were already taken by Freddo. And I lost too the Pentagon, which made me very sad. But at least I'm now par with him techwise.
