I'd like it if there were an option to have secret alliances, where I could agree to go to war in three turns or something. Sometimes they'll ask when I just don't have the troops where I need them, and even if I want to join eventually, I don't want to right then and there.

I usually just refuse anyways. Too many times I've joined a war, only to have my partner make peace a couple turns later.
