Some novelty ideas

It's been mentioned here before but I'd really like to see some recognition given to the maps natural wonders. For example "the worlds longest river has been discovered in **, the ** people have named it the Nile".

I'm not sure how the mechanic would work because I can see some issues, like does the whole map have to be discovered before such a statement is made?

Anyway, it would make the map more interesting and real and give a sense of pride in an odd way.

ooo i would like to see natural wonders periodically. but they should be blatantly obvious, like if you see a huge rock formation, build a city next to it, culture! or the nile would be some food bonus, innate, to the city, while geothermal vents might be production and or health

Natural features, less powerful than in Alpha Centuri, would be great. If they are too big they can be unballencing, something small they're a bonus if you settle there, but not a reason by themselves.

Something that's +1 culture and +1 gold would not be totally unsettling but would be nice to have in a city's BFC. That would be worth thinking about if not overdone.
