In the last games I've played I noticed that my Drill 1 units were eligible for Medic 1 after that. I seem to recall that the Medic 1 promotion was only available to units that had Combat 1 before, or is that just my imagination playing tricks on me? Was that a change in the last patch? If so, I'm glad they did it.

Something new or did I just miss it before?

I think it's new to the last patch but it could have been the one immedately prior to that one which opened the anti-unit type promotions to Drill I.1st C3DG Term 7 Science Advisor 1st C3DG Term 8 Domestic Minister

Ah good, I'd hate to think I was just being totally blind. I like it frankly. I like having at least one reserve Archer/Longbowman in my cities and I used to be torn between the Drill line and Combat 1/Medic 1. Now I can combine the two. It's also good for my Machine Guns as well, since I had to make the same decision with them.

Good idea for MG units, as they are defensive seige units anyway. No matter where you go, there you are. - Buckaroo Banzai
