  • Questions about city, town, and arcologies in Civ 4

    Hi, all.

I have a couple of questions about Civ 4 graphics. I've been playing Beyond the Sword (BTS) expansion and the "Next War" mod. Here's the questions:

    1. I noticed when I build arcologies (damn sweet looking things) they vary in size. Some arcologies look small (1 1/2 x 1 1/2 grid), while others are so big they cover a 3 x 3 grid. he city size doesn't seem to matter, since a size 35 - 40 city could have a 2 x 2 sized arcology, while a size 20 city could have a 3 x 3 sized arcology. Why is this happening?

    2. When I build these arcologies, towns inside these tiles show up. Same for forests. But when I reload the saved game, the towns and forests disappear inside the arcology. Is there any way to have the towns and forests show up inside of the arcology radius (under the dome)?

    3. I've been wondering how to make my cities *AND* towns look bigger and more dense with skyscrapers and stuff? For example, a town will have like 10 - 15 skyscrapers per square. How do I increase that to like 20 - 30 skyscrapers? Same for the cities- I want more skyscrapers and less city improvement buildings showing up (granary, barracks, stables, etc. that don't really look modern / skycraper-ish)?

I'd like to know the answers to these questions because I want to have an post-modern civ city-scape with arcologies covering huge stretches of city + towns, larger sized towns (graphically), and more dense-looking cities.

WTF? Arcologies? Are these a Next War only thing? I keep imagining SimCity 2000.

Arcologies are indeed NOT in the normal Civ IV game but in mods.
