How do I found a corporation?

The option is greyed out for me, but as far as I can tell I have all the prerequisites. This is for Standard Ethanol--I've got plastics, gems, rice, corn, the great scientist, etc. No one else has founded it. So how do I found it?

Move the great scientist into the city where you want to found it and found it by clicking on the correct button in the great scientists menu. There is nothing else you have to do if all peequisits are met.

Like I said, I have all the prerequisites.

You need corn or sugar or rice for Standard Ethanol.

I have 9 corn, 2 rice and 7 sugar.

I have the scientist (four of them).

The symbol is there in the city menu but greyed out.

And I assume you have also the technology "corporation" (you only mentioned plastics, that´s why I ask)

Yes. But I just figured out what the issue was--must be the civic. I was running state property. But I thought you could still found a corporation--just that it wouldn't have any effect. My mistake.

You used to be able to found corporations under State Property but they removed that option in one of the patches.

Corporations are a feature that I have rarely used but I tried it again in my last game and liked the added dimension. In my new game I'm going to turn a high food city into a GP farm so that I can get the necessary GPs. In the past I've just let my capital (with lots of wonders) produce most of them but it's a bit too random in the later game.

I think it's an option for the great scientist during his move. Not sure what "city button" you are refering to.
