  • The Hanging Gardens wonder

Just a short question about this wonder:

It says that The Hanging Gardens requires Aqueduct. Is that only in the city it is built, or do all the other cities need an Aqueduct to get that extra citizen?

City only. That is, a city needs an Aqueduct before it can build the Gardens - the effect will be for all cities.

I really like this Wonder - +1 and +1 population in all cities. You can get Mathematics pretty early, and quickly chop it. It generates Great Engineers, plus it never expires.
And indeed there will be time To wonder, "Do I dare?" and, "Do I dare?". t s eliot

I tend to go for that one as well, it's one of my favourites. The fact that it never expires is a big bonus plus I can be reasonably sure of getting a shot at it. I'm usually one of the first to get Mathematics in my games. Any of the earlier wonders I generally get beat to so I don't usually bother with them, but that's the first one I have a fairly good chance with.

          Thanks for the help

I never tried this wonder before (not even in CIV 2), so it was a bit of an experiment. But I agree in the point, that wonders which never expires has an asset. And this one seems pretty sweet for boosting citizens and health.

The effects in CIV 2 were a little different.
extra very happy faces which made WLTK celebrations easier so quick pop growth to much larger cities (not just one extra). In CIV 2 it was one of those, build it and almost guarentee your win. While nice in civ 4, it's not a game breaker.

Actually the wonder does kind of expire, does it not.

Not the +1 health. But the population boost is a one-time event.
