    So where were we?

I had just begun my massive industrialization later than usual. After each city built a factory I had it add 1 or 2 units to my military ability.

Now we should note, my BFF Lincoln, had somehow managed to come up from behind and snag the Eiffel Tower from me 6 turns ahead. I had looked once Radio completed, and noone had electricity even, yet lincoln managed to complete radio and the Eiffel AND mass communication in a relitively short span. Must have been that philo trait of his combined with the 1 or 2 free techs you usually gain signing an alliance (with Korea). He had also founded Mining Inc.

Once I saw that, I withdrew my own plans to build Hollywood, opting to let him build it for me. This gave me some time for the buildup.

He also managed to build the UN, and we held our first elections. This club didn't even require a hat, as everyone was a member.

Not by no small margin, I win the leadership of this new club.

After the majority of my important buildings are finished, most cities are working on units, so another freebie civic switch is waranted.

Hollywood completes, laying the foundation for the final countdown.

Now I had said I would change my behavior on a previous thread, but with factories coming so late for me, again, I build only one powerplant. One really good one.

Lincoln, at this stage, lacks Industrialization, so no tanks. On our border, Sid's Sushi has managed to push the borders back to his frontier cities. There are 3 of them. He does have flight, so a bomber supported attack would be quite costly. I then opt for the ole standby. Artillery. Each of the 3 cities gets 3 dedicated culture defense busters. I have 2 attack stacks that include plenty of city attack units. My plan, bust those 3 cities first turn, then blitz through towards his capital, my prize.

Having an Alliance with Wang posses a minor problem for Istanbul, but I believe it shouldnt be anything I cannot handle.

3 spies possition themselves ready for the opening of Hostilities.

Only one spy has success in its mission. But I have the fall back of artillery.

In the most jovial of ways, I hint to him, that perhaps a spike would make a very eco-freindly adornment for his decapitated skull.

His Frontier cities are weakly defended, and none pose much of a threat. I have plenty of artillery, so the losses of a few are not threatening to my plans in anyway.

Some of you may be wondering "Why would he invade six turns before robotics?" Yeh I wonder that myself sometimes. Chock that up to a silly GnuB mistake because I've been playing EUIII for too long.

The second turn sees the fall of two more cities protected by some culure.

Im even left with a few reserves to hit his "stack" with.

Now on the Istanbul front. Spending a couple turns bottled up to see whats coming, the troops decide, against my wishes, to head out and look for trouble. Again a silly mistake, and my machine guns follow the attack force. I have but a single Infantry left to defend.

The attack force arives on the border of Korea, and they find plenty of trouble.

Istanbul is lost, the main attack force is near destruction and split up. Things look bleak on that front. Curse them for not obeying orders!

However, back at home, Things run smooth as silk. Frisco falls, and I pass control to Ceasar.

Robotics completes just as The Americans are near destruction. Both too late to add anything to that fight, or help in the defense of Istanbul.

The prize falls with little effort. The blitz is complete.

After the american cities on the east coast had fallen, I loaded that army abourd my fleet. They immediatly were sent off to recapture Istanbul.

Then their might was directed north, towards Korea proper after going back home to pick up the now freed up Blitz units.

The marines take Wonsan, then the remainder unloads adjacent to his capital. It falls and he pleads for peace... He offers a city, Its not one I'd like but he refuses the one I would prefer. I accept his first offer.

I now control a city completely cut off and surrounded my malinese culture. Do I fret? Never. The Empire has its ways.

Prior to the complete wind-down of the war. I switched civics back to Organized religion and began work on more wonders. Important wonders.

The funny hat club, undaunted attempts to undue some of my grand accomplishments. I veto. Their is nothing there puny alliance can do now.

It takes some time, But washington's power is assimilated into The Empire. Nothing can stop us now.

The internet completes and my hackers are able to gain entry into all the worlds technological break-throughs.

    And on cue.

I had been saving a prophet to use for another Golden age. Imagine my frustration when the next GP was another prophet... However, it didnt take long for the national park to add it's contribution.

Apparently I had captured the Massuleum. Nice bonus I wasn't previosly aware of.

The captured cities work at a feverish pace to get the economy back up to snuff. Markets, grocers, banks. Seems those are the buildings that my troops liked to pillage and burn most... I think I'll have to train them on looking to the future.

Bactrain, the city that works no tiles proves that tile working is for the birds.

Behold the power of the force- I mean corporations.

Now for the moment you have all been waiting for. What is my ultimate plan for victory? This planet, proving too small for my grand plans, I decide it's time to build the first of my construction ships.

However, we still have some unfinished buisness.

My plans are not to go too far, I am not building more units. I simply wish to remove the thorn in one swift pull, then consolidate. He is a vassal of Mansa, however, My forces are mighty, his are weak.

I did not however count on Korea beeing Involved. None the less. I proceed. His paltry attacks shed off my armour like tears from a little girl I had just beaten.

I then use my world leader status to force a quick end.

Edirne falls, The defenders showed greater spirit than anticipated and it required 2 attacks (he had more units than I sent... ).

The world opts for total destruction. So be it.

    Whats this? Another chance. Muwhahahahahhahha.

An ememy fleet is discovered, and sunk.

Tokugawa, who had faired poorly in this war demands a continuation to regain lost cities.

I take advantage of the continued hostilities, and push for Pyongyang.

Tokugawa's needs mean little to me. Mansa seeing he is powerless to stop me accepts a quick end.

Edirne and its palace finally serve the empire.

My greatest General is attached to the worlds most powerful of land units.

Another wave of wonders is born. This time, there is no doubt as to what is the greatest power in the Universe.

Should anyone attempt to interfere with my plans now. They shall not live to feel regret.

Unknowing of his folly, a Portugese fleet is spoted offshore.

My main force falls just short. They cannot aid in the defense. They can however be ready to retake it, should Joao be dumb enough to attack.

He is that dumb. Istanbul falls yet again.

His fleet then Proceeds towards my homeland. They are intercepted and decimated with the help of my new Wonderweapons.

Now Joao. You shall understand the true power of the force.

A special delivery is sent straight to Joao's capital city.

Fear then drives the remainder of the world leaders to join in one last gasp. Total war on a world wide scale. Perhaps together they can bring down the empire?

Now to anyone who believes that Ironclads are a worthless unit not fit for building. I give you this.

I reward the captain with an upgrade to the newest of ships. A stealth destroyer. To those paying attention to the details, That was the first Ironclad I had built.

Korea then gets a delivery of thier very own.

The weakend, glowing units are then easy pickings for my marines.

Mansa send a counter attack, but my general shows why a 3 move blitz unit is a really good thing.

Choppers head out and cut the road. No new attacks can attack without warning.

Not wanting Zara to feel left out. I send him a package as well. I hope he's wearing his lead underwear.

Egypt strikes from the sea. She is soundly beaten.

Mansa's amphibious attack however is both unexpected, and succesful. My mainland is invaded!

Egypt, launches her own strike against Tokugawa. Such transgressions shall not go unpunished.

I return the favor, but mine are larger.

Zara, attempting to probe my western seaboard stumbles right into my picket line.

Mansa is allowed to look out into the channel just long enough to see what's coming.

      Three cities feel the sting.

In Korea, my land forces push to Pusan.

Both Portugal and Egypt gain special treatment. Two more cities disolve. And Joao begs for the badman to stop, reversing his gains in Mongolia.

Any fear I might have had for my own cities is alleviated. Star Wars technology is lofted into space.

Just to let the enemy rebel scum know that I am by no means done. I show them that I have plenty to spare.

Followed by land forces to burn the remainder of the city.

Just in case he wondered. No there is more.

Nampo stands ready to defend. The defenders are illuminated prior to there homes beeing burnt.

Enough forces gather and I begin the liberation of my mainland.

The defenders outnumber my attackers only slightly. My attack falters but Mansa wants to stop the pain for the return of the city.

      Again, on cue.

The Empire is mighty. I begin the new peace with a mad dash for the last of the techs. Pushing 6000 already, it will only improve as more cities are devoted to 'wealth'.

I tell Mansa to clean his room, and give him a broom.

Now, my Nuke silos refilled, I decide it prudent to make sure noone else can build more.

A glance at the tech tree shows I have little worry. Noone is even close.

7228. The true power of The Empire.

The last tech is complete. I check the victory screen. I want no culture suprises. Mansa is close, But that last 60,000 will be slow in coming. (marathon requires 150,000 culture for victory)

        Nearing completion...

        Workers hurry production along.

        The ship complete. It launches.

The construction ship in orbit, they tell me it shall take 30 years to complete the project.

Another gander at the Victory screen shows mansa has made progress, this could be close.

Too make sure, I possition my amphib fleet off his coast. Nothing can stop us now.

Spies are sent in to slow progress by causing revolts and destroying buildings.

Zara, thinking he can avert the inevitable attempts to bring me down yet again. There is nothing he can do even if I ignore him.

I decide I shouldnt and send the remainder of my nukes at both him and Joao. They make inroads into Mongolia, only to use it as leverage to end the suffering.

One last look before I enter my personal shuttle shows The race wasnt even close.

        And victory is ours.

        and the victory movie.

The Death Star is clear to fire - cut scene from Star Wars Rebellion game.

So, those that were able to follow from the begining, discuss.

            Mistakes I know I made;

Instead of having my quechua sit idle and wait on constantinople, I should have moved them to london as soon as I noticed it had grown. That axeman almost made a dissaster.

Forgeting some of the finer points of the game, a number of my cities were not build on the river, missing a levee by 1 square.

The misclicks with the defenders of istanbul almost made me reload!

Also possible that if I had waited for robotics for the Blitz, Lincoln could have gained tanks or some other units, so I dont consider that a mistake. Things went smoothly enough with infantry.

Alliances combine scores. So Mansa/Hatshepsut's scores combined were higher than mine.

                    That was already Emporer...

I started another game, doing even better on the tech front. Isabella spent the majority of the game as the points leader, yet when I invaded it was Panzer vs muskets... the next advanced has infantry, but most use grenadiers and rifles. PWned.

I keep 'requires complete kills' on. When I took london with my quecha rush, the axeman she was chasing me with survived to defend london the entire game. I thought that was cute...

I was almost tempted to give her a captured american city cause I fealt bad for her..
