  • Next War mod?

    Hello,

When I first got BtS I was really keen to try using the Next War mod as I liked the idea of having a standard game with a fully fleshed out future era.

However, when I played the mod (and I do mean the mod, not the scenario) I found that it had made changes to the standard game as well such as renaming the UN etc. I stopped playing as a result.

Is there a way to use the mod just to provide a fleshed out future era without any changes to the rest of the game?

there is a way but you'd have to modify the xml files of the mod. You have to compare them to the original files, and iron out the differences (exept the ones you want to keep).

Seriously... you should try that mod out... You WON'T be disappointed.

Personally, I like JKP's Next War Revolutions better though...

Thanks for the replies. What are the differences between the two mods mentioned?

The first one is a mod I made to clean up what I thought to be some bugs and other things I didn't like about the original Next War mod included in the game. The objective there was to be as faithful as possible to the original mod, changing or adding only those things that (in my mind) were absolutely necessary for the mod to feel right -- I did not want to create a so-called "Kitchen Sink" mod where changes were made just for the fun of it.

"Next War: Revolutions" is a merge of that mod with jdog5000's "Revolution" mod, which is available for download on CivFanatics. See full description here: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...hreadid=174962
