Highlands map script, seas, normal mountains, 4 AIs. No worldbuilder shenanigans; this is exactly what the game generated for a start position.

Oh great ! But tell me, how did you attach the save ? The upload thing told me that it was the wrong file type.

It should work ... it's possible you have a different capitalization scheme, though, and it is unfortunately sensitive to that (ie, BeyondSwordSave is different from beyondswordsave).

Post the file's name here and I'll look into it

I looked at it last night. Had to capitalize C, B, S & S in civbeyondswordsave in order for the game to see it.

A lot of the surrounding terrain is crappy, too , though some grassland/forest/river to the south.

Marooned on the island with the settler, as Tuberski said (although I think it's actually the settler hiding under the scout).

Monarch, agressive AI. Highlands map, standard size, epic speed, normal mountains, seas (obviously). Only 4 AI opponents.
