Well, I used Worldbuilder to replace Egypt with Carthage in the 18 civs world map. Unfortunately, the upload service won't accept files with the .beyondswordWBsave extension If one of the staff could help me out, I'd be happy to share the file.
Or, you could just read here to learn how to do it yourself, if you don't want to wait, or want Egypt in, or whatever. And thanks DaleYou've just proven signature advertising works!

Marcusem78, if you want more options beyond Seedle's map, there are a lot of good Earth maps available from CFC. Three of the best ones are probably:
Earth 34 civs by marx&engles (Earth map from Civ4 with all BtS civs; Europe VERY crowded; most basic true-to-the-original-game Earth map out there AFAIK)
This is the same map as Earth24 for Warlords and 18 for Vanilla with the new BtS civs in their historical start locations. Eurasia is not upscaled, so Europe will be fairly competitive. Colonies allowed. More info/Download Database...
Giant Earth Map by Genghis_Kai (GIGANTIC map; 36 civs, including many custom ones (Australia, Hungary, Yue, Brazil, etc))
Please goto the new Giant Earth Map Mod forum! http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=296 Giant Earth Map (GEM) How the map looks: Updates of the coming release (26/05/2008) 1940AD scenario is now completed! 200BC scenario is now roughly 40% completed. It is...
Earth 192x120 by Carter (very large map; with a choice of 18/24/32 of BtS's 34 civs)
Earth Download for Vanilla Download for Warlords Download for BtS The Map: This is an earth map made with the worldbuilder and notepad. In a speculative attempt to improve performance on such a large map I've kept it under 24,000 tiles and used a 1.6:1 X:Y...
But there are many more if you're willing to comb through their huge archive.

Thanks for the good reference... I combed through all the maps actually, found one that had Carthage, but when I tried to d/l it sent me to an error page... site not found or somethin. I think I'll just modify the basic Earth 18 map, 18 civs, huge map, all that. Drop Egypt, adjust the site west slightly to better suit initial site placement for Cartjhage. Probly drop Mansa to and place Zulus down south to better balance Africa with those changes... any comments on that? Good idea, bad...? New to map adjustments so any advice would be appreciated

Yes, one of the problems with CFC is that they have a LOT of dead links. Some downloads work, some don't, just a matter of trial and error (the ones I linked all work though). This is a recent problem as a result of their site getting hacked that'll hopefully fix itself over time, but I also hope we can sort out our own database problems here in the same time.

Yay, thanks Locutus (for fixing the upload) and Snoopy (for offering e-mail, and pointing out I could just zip it ).
Here is 18 civ earth map with just Carthage replacing Egypt:

Here is the same map with Carthage replacing Egypt and Zulu replacing Mali:

The areas where I'm pretty sure Carthage belongs already is decent. I wasn't sure exactly where to put Shaka, so I just put him at the best available city site in southern Africa. However, southern Africa is dry, and except for the Zulu capital, poor in resources. I didn't alter the terrain, but it might be a good idea to sprinkle in some grassland and/or food resources around Shaka to give him (or you, if you want to play the Zulu) a chance. (Speaking of giving the AI a chance, make a passage through the Andes for the Inca, they're screwed in their start )Last edited by Seedle; April 14, 2008, 13:52.You've just proven signature advertising works!

Again - thanks man. I LOVE playing on Earth maps, and Hannibal/Carthage is my favorite to play. I know FIN and CHA is pretty easy to play, I love them cuz they flexible and, well, FUN to play. ALso their UU makes me try to get Horseback Riding relatively early, making it an actual worthwhile tech to research.
