  • A quick refresher for cue's???

I have looked for a quick cue keyboard shortcut to save a build queue and apply it to another city? I thought I saw this somewhere? I mean you add twenty items, eg.; and you want to apply that same template of building to each city afterward??? CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+annoying builds every city when I know I want them to build in order as I specify without having to do it each time for every city....!!!!! Help is there such a function??? I thought there was????

    Cheers all!

CTRL <#> (where # = any keyboard number key) (not the F keys) copies the displayed city build queue into buffer number #

SHIFT <#> pastes the queue in buffer # into the present city (Omitting any buildings or units the city cannot produce)
    If you aren't confused,

Oh so those programed G keys on my G-15 have been sitting there un-used in CIV even though they did something! Bah...

Hum, sounds usefull. Though, I'd love to be able to edit the queues... They're for that game only? See, Call to Power had magnificient queueues... (How many ues are there in queueueues...) I'd like to be able to edit a gueue with basically every building, uniques included, into a single queue. Also, few specific ones, for production city, wealth city etc. With stuff I'm not even able to build, yet.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

CivII had a universal build que which could be edited in one file.

The queues do not go away with the end of a game. In fact, I have a basic just-conquered-a-new-city build list always loaded into queue # 1. The problem with this is that it does not substitute UB from standard building. For example, a Granary in the stored list will not be replaced by a Terrace if you are Incan. I find this irritating. I would also love to find a way to edit the queues, but have not been able to so far. As it is, the only way to create a queue that says "Theater, Lighthouse, Granary, Library, Courthouse" is to have a city that contains none of these buildings pre-built and have a tech level that covers all the buildings. Then you can create the queue and copy it. Sometimes, in fact many times, this is awkward to arrange. Having to then create an alternate queue (which I always make queue # 2.) for the Civ and UB I am presently playing can be a pain. Still, it can be a very useful tool.

I am mildly surprised that I seem to be the only one giving supposedly authoritative answers on this. I usually get corrections on anything I try to share on this forum. (which is a good learning process, no matter how embarassing) I figure that the advanced and knowledgeable players either
A: Play every game building one building at a time for the same reasons they do not automate anything, or
B: Figure everyone already knows this stuff, or
C: Do not care about yet another set of keystrokes to memorize.

How many ues are there in queueueues?
As many ues as youse care to ueueuse!

So, you can actually start a new game, give yourself ALL techs via worldbuilder, set the queues and start a new game with all queues still active? If so, neat!

I used to have pre-defined queues, but lately I haven't been bothered to create them. Instead I just make queue for each city. But if the queues are staying after end of game, I'll try the "trick" I mentioned

I play one building at a time, or a few buildings at a time at most.

I knew it! See my option A above!

Moonwolf. Interesting idea. I have dogmatically avoided World Builder just to feel pure at heart. However, I really don't build long queues in the buffers, just a few buildings that I am sure to want. Even then I may play with the queue I have just pasted in and adjust some priority or something. Nice trick, though, very nice.

Eris, option A and C for me! no q's for me, too much a hassle, I'm not advanced enough and I don't like to lose control. even one turn building the wrong building makes me feel like I lost something. automate workers? nah, no control....

good thing that I don't have my own little, real, "state", I would get crazy of micromanaging all my people telling them to go to work, sleep, fight.... they would get crazy too probably.
