An unusual thing just occured

I got a clallenge to build nine libraries by blah with an extra bonus if I build the Great Library. What's odd is I already built everything on the list. Next turn up pops this message shown below. I took the extra free 'scholars' which translated into an extra free scientist, so now the Great Library has three!

I have a glowing feeling of great accomplishment.

Yeah... nothing better than receiving a "quest" and knowing you have already met the requirements... A real freebe.

On the other hand, I hate getting a quest that requires you to build 7 or more of something in your cities, and you only have 4 - 6 cities... especially when you are only a few turns away from triggering one of the events that end the quest

Mmm. Yeah. Or realising that you do in fact have EXACTLY 7 cities so you can build those 7 universities, but you realise that cities #6 and #7 are in fact frontier outposts you kinda didn't really wanna shoulda but did anyway for that beaver or the marble the furry little rats use to make the kitchen benchtops in their ice-ridden dams.

And it's going to be a long time before you whip enough beavers into shape to build that 7th university.

You need good timing for the library quest. If it comes early, you won't have enough libraries to start the GL, and will finish the quest without it. I usually get this quest too early.

You need x number of libraries to build the GL????????

I don't build the GL much anymore since BTS came out.
Did they change it.

You need a lib in the city that builds the GL.

Yeah, i thought that was the only requirement (not including the tech)

If you have the tech for the GL and no one has built it yet, in cities in which you don't have a Libary, it will be grayed out to show that you could build it if only you had a Libary present.

On the 3rd Scientist, I hear that it will also go away like the other two when the Great Library expires.
