  • Keeping the faithful faithful?

The other guys in my religion do sometimes sneak attack me, the unfaithul froward buggers. I've noticed that the different civs are influenced to different degrees. Some will have a high # on the 'We care about our brothers and sisters of the faith', and others a low #. Anyone know why? Is it solely due to the amount of believers in that empire?

How else (besides the AP which I know about) can I keep the faithful in the fold and a united front vs the heathen?

I believe it has to do with how many of your cities (citizens) are of that faith and your population size compared to other civs populations....

Although Lord Avalon does make a valid point.

there are also some values in the XML for each leader that influence the # next to "we care for our brothers and sisters of the faith."

the BtS reference sheet is useful for a quick rundown of the different leaders and their diplomatic attitudes:

I think it also has to do with how many other religions (and their percentages in the populations) that you and they have.
Doesn't your religious civic also factor in?

I also believe that whether the religion is in their capitol (and yours) is a significant contributor.
