I was just curious where some of you folks build the non-location specific national wonders like Scotland Yard, Mt. Rushmore, and the Globe Theatre to a lesser extent. Do you simply pick a middle of the road city and plop 'em down?

Highest production non specialist city available.
I.E. Not my science, financial, GP, or military city. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Rushmore is pretty cheap -- I build it in basically any city that won't get two other NWs. I almost never use a spy on Scotland Yard.
Globe theater I know I'm not using well. Often it doesn't get built. The problem with it is that it would go well with a number of other NWs but not as well as some other NWs do. By itself, it's not that particularly useful. Specifically, it would go well with Heroic Epic, so that you can build units, not happy buildings, and keep producing them even in the midst of the worst war weariness. Unfortunately, I'd rather have West Point or Red Cross with Heroic Epic. I guess National Epic and Globe make sense so you can have unlimited pop to put into specialists, but my GP farm is usually pretty short on hammers. The undeserving maintain power by promoting hysteria.

Globe Theatre is used in my GP city when I build it (not that often) if I have two cities. The four get Globe Theatre, National Epic, National Forest, and one other that I'm forgetting (usually the Nationals go together, but if the main GPP city doesn't have forests, then it's Globe and NE).<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

No... it is not possible to capture NW's... they disappear when you take the city.
And like snoppy, I follow his basic strategy. If I have a a high food city, I like to combine NE and GT to create a whip crank early, and then a specialist city later.Keep on Civin'

You can capture National Wonders, but they have the same rules as normal buildings. That is, no culture producers, and even then there's a chance it'll be destroyed in the process.
So, Scotland Yard and Ironworks. But, no Heroic Epic.
Sorry Charlie, Krill.
