One comment on your workers: Many improvements don't benefit from making roads. Build them strictly to provide mobility, and to connect resources that don't sit on rivers. You might want to connect mines, just in case you find new resources. Not making additional roads early in the game gives you a lot of worker turns for more useful stuff. You can always fill in roads (and rails) later in the game, when most improvements are done.Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

Not quite ready. But getting there.
1st priority is to connect your cities via roads. 2nd is to hook up the iron, ivory(if you haven't yet, it's hard to tell), and if you want to build any wonders, marble.
You may also want to put another city down near that other gold.
And I still think you should get a settler down to Moscow ASAP. Your economy is doing ok and it would make for a powerhouse city.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Erk. Catherine was just south of you. I know going for blood can be a thrill, but you could've almost doubled your empire's size with a couple more archers for defense. You have CoL, yes?I'm consitently stupid- Japher

Charles and Gilgamesh are also Protective, and Musa has those skirmishers, which might give you a hard time. I'd say Izzy if she's close by. Both her and Charles have holy cities, with which a holy shrine can greatly benefit your economy (so don't raze that city, dope).
Other than that I reiterate by previous comments wrt settling on top of old Moscow. It has workboats in the water and a farm on a special resource. Plus it's on a hill so no worries defending it.
EDIT: Okay, I think I can piece together your map. Send 2 settlers w/ archers (CD2/3, DR1) and maybe 1 dog soldier to the hill where you launched your attack on Catherine (you'll get fish & dye, +1 hammer for plains hill) and the 2nd to old Moscow. Connect with roads and once the fat cross expands it'll fill in the gaps. The archers can defend your cities from barbs and the Dog can hit 'em hard if they try to pillage anything. Assuming you now have CoL, and can get Currency soon, you can build your economy a bit before heading out towards your next target.Last edited by Theben; January 22, 2008, 23:56.I'm consitently stupid- Japher

Oh, and as far as the barbs, try to get one of your Dog Soldiers forest II or III. You've a lot of forest on your borders and Forest II will allow your unit to respond quickly to incursions. Forest III will allow you to attack said units in forest, and heal faster also.
You can do the same with your Archers and Guerilla II/III wrt hills.I'm consitently stupid- Japher

It looks like Mansa Musa settled in the old Russian lands.Could be a problem down the line.
Any chance you can get that gold south of Babylon? Before Charlemagne does!
And yes, go kill Izzy.
EDIT: Are you sure those are barb cities? They look like Musa's colors.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
