OK! back at my own comp! finally! having plotted and planned for days now, I'm starting to come up with a wicked and evil plan. I'm gonna have to condone some wickedness and conquer the byzantine empire. they are quite pathetic and their addition to my own lands will give me a shot at developing past ****** status. which I'm currently in. I'm a bit behind on tech, but I have a cunning plan...

I've settled past the Greeks by using a little Galley to sneak in some extra Iron, Gold and the second colony has Horses and Elephants. They will be my base for expansion.

if you view the map there is a barb city. I have some of my troops on their way there. I am going to conquer it. with the experienced (provided anyone survives, they never seem to) I'll smash Justinian.

following that I'm going to outculture Ankara and take it over by pure culture war. then we'll see what to do next...

that cheeky devil Pericles beat me to taking Aryan from the barbs, but he only took it with a single archer. the temptation was too much. War is on!

After taking the city a few skirmishes with Pericles discouraged me from further fighting as any other gains would be minimal considered the effort, so I made peace with him and started building my new cities. I made a mistake though shifting to Caste System too early. My capital has a ton of specialists, but I would much prefer pop-rushing in my colonies, but done is done.

Aryan is growing extremely fast with all the flood plain and I went Hereditary rule (and org.rel) a while back so happiness is no problem. taking a look at Justinians defences I realize he is extremely weak. he has very few units, but what he has is a bit advanced. longbowmen. I'll see what my catapults can do against that. I also need to get some elephants in the works.

of course, my brilliant plans are interrupted by my dear old friend Pericles who has decided to declare war on me.

a side note as to my position in the world. not that good. I'm still trailing on techs and the top civs are quite a ways ahead. things are looking a bit grim as of the moment, but there's not particularily a lot I can do at the moment. I've discovered that Ziggurats are marvelous items though! cheap as dirt courthouses really help to steady cash flow. and a few merchant caste in my capital, as well as a few scientists keeps me still in the game.

another thing I should have mentioned, dear Justinian has been tempting me time and again by building wonder after wonder. one of them, the AP, of which I was elected leader. I've had a lot of fun with that

just recently I brought the full brunt of christianity upon Ramesses, who happens to be in the lead. let's see how long that lasts...
