How is air combat determined? Fighters sometimes get shot down and sometimes withdraw when damaged. What determines it? Also do fighters get a bonus against bombers? Theoretically, bombers should win because they have higher strengths.

Fighters should shoot down a bomber. bombers just fly in and drop payload and go. fighters are solely for are combat. Normal mode bombers don't get experience because that would mean they would have to shot down a fighter. so far on RTW planes get 1 xp for lowering defense bonus and destroying units like fighters and AA guns. but anyways interception is what determines the likely hood that a fighter will have a dogfight. bombers have 0% whereas fighters have 100% in normal and 50% RTW. There are all sorts of fighters in RTW and usually the stronger fighter wins. So the German fighters have the best chance of victory because they are the most powerful. And a ship will occassionlly damage a fighter.
so if you want them to be more successful then up strength. If you want them to engage more often the up intercept. Can only do this in BTS. you get more xp in normal mode but only with fighters killing other fighters thus bombers get jack
