  • Submitting feedback for more options

I have been able to found or acquire every religion in the game. Before the monasteries became obsolete, I rushed to build many Missionaries to help spread their religions. Every time they were built, I needed to tell them where to go or click on the Automate button.

There is an option to have Workers start automated. I would like to see the same happen for religious missionaries and perhaps corporate 'missionaries'.

Is there a thread where feedback is being recorded, so that changes and additions can be submitted for future releases or patches? I took a quick look through, but none of the thread subject lines stood out.

Can you please point me in the proper direction?

I believe that is already an option, actually. If you don't see it (should be near the worker option), it may have been added in the latest patch. Get that and you should be good to go.

It's not in any patch, it was an addition to BtS itself. Just look in your Game Options.

Yeah, I'm sure it is an option when you get BtS. If you go into the options screen and then I think it's other (or misc or whatever option isn't graphics or audio) and then you can select to automate workers, missionaries and/or corporate executives.

Out of interest, how does an automated missionary work? Does it just head to the nearest city that doesn't have your state religion and spread it there?

Someone else may answer with authority based on code, but based on using automated missionaries a bunch for amusement purposes, it does seem to head to the nearest city. There may be a preference for cities with a lesser number of overall religions. I also believe that they will fill your cities with the religion in question before wandering into other countries.

It would be interesting to know if they know whether a foreign Civ is in Theocracy and therefore not available for another religion. I find that I sometimes do not check for that myself when manually working with Missionaries.

"What do you mean they are not listening to your preaching? Preach louder!" "Oh. Try this other place instead. I was just giving you some practice first."
            If you aren't confused,
            You don't understand.

I think that's about the size of it. It certainly would be the easist way to program the behaviour. I have noticed though, when I was using it, that if you have two Missionaries, they're smart enough not to head for the same city. The second one no doubt head for the second closest, and so on.

I believe that they do, if IIRC. I seem to recall noticing that they were missing certain civs then later realizing it was because of Theocracy. It's been awhile though since I've used the function so I could just be imagining things.

Thank you for the tip. My eyes have been crossing after hours of play. I found the checkbox where you said it would.

In answer to the difficulty, I am playing one level above tutorial. I like the easy win, but since I play Civ only a few days or weeks out of the year, I need to remember how certain concepts work. I am also trying to devise different strategies. As long as I have the tech and the industry to support it, I create armies that crash over my enemies in waves.

I am not trying to be a god, but I am trying to have fun.
