  • so which firaxian removed the glance

from the foreign advisor? Cos I really wanna know. It was actually useful.
We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

Useful, but poorly done and buggy at times. I wish they just cleaned it up and fixed it instead of pulled it, but time constraints probably made that an impossibility.

How was it buggy? Ugly, I can buy, but it seemed to work ok, and it's quite useful at times.
To the original poster: you know that you can still enable the glance screen, right?

There's a single line in a python file than needs to be edited. If I'm not mistaken, the edited file itself can be obtained here:

Similar to Solver's patch for 3.02, this patch modifies the CvGameCoreDLL.dll file. As with his version, it's best to make a backup of the dll before overwriting it. The source code for the changes is included (multiple files with a .cpp extension). These are only necessary if you will be...

(this is the supplementary fix that's refered to towards the bottom).

If for whatever reason that doesn't work, or you're ok with python, it's a simple matter to simply re-enable the thing:

Wow, they actually removed it? Why would they remove a useful feature. If it's ugly, clean it up not lazily remove it. How ********.

Buggy in the sense that for some reason it would periodically botch on me and display one random AI person's numbers REALLY REALLY REALLY HUGE and that caused me to be unable to read anyone else's.

Dis, the 2nd tab in the BtS F4 (before 3.13) had a matrix of all of the civs and their attitudes with each other. Hover over one of the intercies and you would get a total breakdown of their attitude, along with a list of their trades.

                It's really worth restoring!

The columns are whose attitude you are checking, the rows are who you are checking them against. Your civ is the top row.

It was especially useful when you get a request from an AI civ to do anything. You could look at the glance and quickly decide whether it was in your interest to do so.

                    Thanks for that link.

In my personal experience sometimes the glance tab would get messed up, resulting in all of the rows and columns being mismatched and out of place making it impossible to read.

I guess they couldn't fix it so they just removed it. I wished they just left it in as it was quite useful when it did work (which was the majority of the time).

I’m kind of disappointed to, many patches of the mods are posted on CFC only. We really seem to be in decline since civ4 came out. It seems that we are treated like a 1990’s Russia. But they better think twice, because OUR WORDS ARE BACKED BY NUCLEAR WEAPONS*!

Ohh, and we’ll be getting a happy Putin smiley soon!**

                          Yeah, I know, we're total second-class citizens!

Actually, I forgot that I didn't include the non-dll "fixes" in my post here. I'll have to rectify that at some point.
