Has anyone ever given any thought to the "rotating earth" icon you see during the loading screen? It's weird. The planet itself doesn't rotate, but the day/night cycle takes place "below" the camera, as do the weather systems. It's almost as if the camera is in a geosynchronous orbit above the earth. Ditto for the original CIV 4 startup screen. But what a weird and slightly counterintuitive POV! In any sci-fi context I've ever seen, you *always* orbit around a planet (well technically, you do here too, but I mean in a low-earth orbit). It's prettier that way, and you get a sense of motion that's lacking here. Anyone else ever thought about this?
