problems

i bought civ 4 ages ago and it worked on my old pc.
but i bought a new pc and its got vista but it doesnt work it is saying that it cant work on the format.

anyone got anything they know how to fix it?

need help pretty quickly if possible

That error message is rather inspecific ... can you give us the actual error message, and what point you get it at (during install, during load, etc.)?

and it stops during load

What is the exact error message (the full contents of the error box, including its title)?

Did it install correctly, without any errors?

is it Civ4, Warlords, or BTS?

and after i press run program it says

Did you try installing it to run as administrator?

Otherwise, there are a few people here running it in Vista (I'm not), so they should be able to help.

i have i am the administraitor on this pc so it automatically does it

Well, it works fine for many people so I'm not sure what the specific problem is. Running it in XP compatibility mode might help (or NT/2000). Also you might check that the right DirectX files are installed (have you patched to the newest patch yet?)

Yes, are you running version 1.74?

I don't see why you would be having problems, it's running fine on my 32 bit Vista. There's probably something else going on besides the operating system.
