  • BTS Age of Ice problems

I can't find any information on the BTS Age of Ice scenario. When I try to play it, the interface is switched off. This makes it very difficult to play. Also, I don't know how to get any information on the special powers of some units, never mind how to activate them.
Is the interface supposed to be switched off? If so, is it possible to switch it back on?
    Thanks
    Gary Thomas

If you go over to CFC forums and look for the FFH fantasy mod you will fnd a thread for AoI.

Do not play it my self - so best info I can give.

Control-I should bring it back. I haven't played that mod either, but for making global screen shots I like to temporarily turn off the interface.

If the above doesn't fix your problem PM Kael at Civfanatics or post in the Civfanatics thread and you should get help. I suspect that you are probably a Vista user running into a python error in the interface problems.

I am running 64 bit Vista. Yet another vista problem! Thanks for the help. I will check at CivFanatics

No, it's probably a 64-bit problem. 64-bit anything is just asking for trouble.

I haven't actually had a 64 bit problem except for one driver. I have had quite a few Vista problems. The most spectacular was that Age of Empires III (a Microsoft game) doesn't run on Vista (a Microsoft OS), at least for me.

Using control-I has no effect - it doesn't turn it on.

The Age of Ice forum is here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=263 if you want to post your issue. You may want to enable python errors so you can post the exact error that is causing the problem.

In my experience Vista is less tolerant than former versions. Where prior versions would have happily carried on after an illegal call Vista stops the process. Im sure at some level this is to try to trap suspect applications and enforce good behavior of apps it does mean you will probably see more symptoms on Vista (though technically the errors are occuring on both systems).

Maybe its a good thing, force the developers to be a little more careful with their code. But its certainly frustrating when you upgrade your OS and thing that used to work stop working.
