can't install the patch?

I'm trying to get into multyplayer, and it says I have ot have this patch but every time I download it it says I have to shut down the game and install the patch but when it ends, nothing happenes, and when I get back in nothing installed. what do I do to download the thing?

Do you have a retail (box) version or direct2drive?

If you have a cd/dvd retail version, you can try downloading it from apolyton - click on the link on the top of the page to download it.

If you have direct2drive - www.direct2drive.com/patches/
