  • Diplomatic victory, U.N. and AI to human vassalage

    Hi,

I have a couple of questions:

    - It is normal to be elected 4 times with the apostolic palace and not having the option for diplomatic victory?

    - Why are the AI's always voting for the other contender when I build the UN even if I have 2 friendly and 2 pleased with me.

I don't know if this is a bug or not but when one AI vassalizes another, they usually make peace and all further dealings are done with the new master.

However in this game I played, Ragnar was getting bashed offered to become my vassal for protection. The circumstances of the game made it so that I could not accept, but if I did, I automatically went at war with Ragnar old enemies.

Peace should be made immediately as it is with ai vassals no?

Read the civopedia... Each and every AI has to have at least one city of the Apostolic religion before diplomatic victory is available. This can be difficult if an AI has Theocracy, but, well, that's what you need to do.

If you accept someone as a vassal, the ones he's at war with have to immediately choose peace or else to go to war with you. Ultimately it depends on whether they hate him more than they like you.

There's a very good reason the AR must be spread to every civ. Without that it would be asurdly easy to win that way by choosing a religion no one else follows. (Since only cities that have the AP religion get votes)

Thanks for pointing that out guys.

Actually I do have an excuse for not looking at the civopedia. It kept crashing with BTS 3.03

AFAIK Civopedia in 3.03 only crashes when you click on cross-links in an entry. As long as you always use the menu to go to other entries, you should be ok.

Off the CD has the same feature (on my machine). Your fine if you don't hit cross links.
