Have any of you successfully founded all religions an instated theology before meeting any other civ to prevent their spread elsewhere?

Don't think it's possible. Theocracy as I understand it prevents non-state religions from spreading in *your* empire, but does nothing to prevent your religions from spreading in other civs.

No, religion spreads randomly to a certain extent, and then a monastery can be built, and so much for the embargo on God.

You can only prevent religious spread by preventing "connections", connections are things like roads and rivers.

You could in theory play an isolationist game on a map like Highlands where you probably play a creative civ, expand rapidly, secure entire river systems and then decline to build roads out of your culture, keeping borders closed to stop the AI building roads in.

Alternatively, you can conquer any cities which adopt your religions.

Rivers that run to your empire and are connected to your cities by roads will bring your religion to the outside world.

I even have sometimes experienced that religions spread to nations you didn't even met yet.
