    I know that in normal time victory kicks in at 500 turns

      Isn't it about 3x normal game? ~1500 sounds right.
      Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

              In Beyond the Sword, it's different -- they changed the game lengths.
              Marathon is 1500 turns (yes, it WAS 1200). Normal speed was 460, now 500 with BtS.
