  • What's the longest game you've played?

I just got done with a 1400 Culture win game, but I'm sure there are games that have gone much longer.

What is the longest game you've played?

70 hours actual playing time (well, at least looking at the monitor). Huge marathon game.

2020 AD, once. Usually 18th or 19th century.
(wouldn't want to confuse with winning a culture victory somehow with 1400 culture being "legendary").

A more interesting question might be, what is the latest that you have LOST (or given up on) a game.

I applaud some of you guys who like the really, really long games. My games are typically 10-14 hours, but I play Standard maps, Normal speed. To be honest, I doubt I will ever go to a longer game (e.g. epic or marathon). I like the early game a lot, and find the late game starts to drag out. Granted I do almost always drive for a Domination victory, so I'm typically deep in war trying to hit the Domination victory criteria, thereby slowing the pace of the game in the late eras.

But a 70 hour game? I like the early eras too much.

Right. Play the longer game to live in the early eras longer.

I can clock in at 30 to 40 hours on a Large Marathon game. I don't know how much of that is dithering and how much is actual clicks, battles, and watching defenders die. (I have tried Huge Marathon, but it makes my computer gasp and pant in exhaustion in between turns.) I may have even longer in the records if I looked, but that would just be providing evidence against the proposition that I am not really addicted to this game. Seriously, not addicited at all. Well, not very much.
          If you aren't confused,
          You don't understand.

I think my longest was an Epic/Large that took me about....17 hours or so. Don't think I've ever finished a Marathon game....

That would've been the "History of the World VII" Multiplayer Diplomacy Game, which lasted for 7 months!

We played 24 sessions of about 4 hours.
The game was an 11 player game on a huge map, marathon speed.
During the weeks we had story telling and diplomacy chatting.
And yes, we finished the game (obviously).

A diplogame is something completely different then a demogame!
