I searched the forums, couldn't find it in the manual, or by going through in game options. Isn't there a way to redraw a map in an unmodded game? Like if your start puts you in the tundraw surrounded by barren land and u don't want to exit out and restart a new game?

Yes, you can choose "regenerate map" but I think the option's only available on the first turn. It's in the same menu as "exit to desktop" etc. -
