Inflation Explanation?

Does anyone know exactly how inflation works? (I know there's a bug with regard to Corporations and inflation, but just in general?)

The best I've been able to gather is something like "Nobody really knows, but you can't really do much about it, and it generally is manageable."

I gather it's largely there to stop people from amassing truly ludicrous treasuries as opposed to just huge ones?

As your empire becomes larger, inflation grows. This means that all of your calculated expenses are multiplied by inflation.

On the upside, having all that land usually allows you to generate enough revenue to keep pace with inflation.

Inflation is expands as the game progresses not as your empire expands. I think inflation also increases during war.

I don't know how inflation works exactly....I did come across an event where inflation was reduced and it gave a rather large boost to my economy.

this happened to me also, the event was called Federal Reserve and cost to me about 500 gold pieces... however, I don´t know how it works, or if I´ve to do something to happen
