  • Expanding corporations (or not)

Is anyone else having trouble with corporations? I've played 5 or 6 games in which I've established a corporation but there's only been one game in which the founding city's building list gave me the choice of building a corporate executive.

As an example, in my last game, I founded Mining, Inc. in a city with a nearby iron mine. I forget how many mines I had in total but there were at least four more of copper, silver, gold. It couldn't have been that I was missing some essential tech - even when I was researching Future Tech, no corporate execs in the founding city.

I can't think of what may have been different in the one game where I was "allowed" to build businessmen. Oh yeah, it was definitely the right city. When I placed the cursor over the city, the list of buildings included the corporation.

Does anyone have any insight to offer?

I am fairly sure if you are running state property you cannot build executives.

Yeah, you can't expand corps if you're running SP. If you're not running SP and you still encounter this problem, a save file would be helpful.

        A couple misconceptions, here:
        (1) Your hammers etc. are determined by the TOTAL assets available, not just those in the 'fat cross' of the founding city.
        (2) You want to found the corp. in your city with the highest gold multipliers (i.e., where your Wall Street is built). There doesn't need to be ANY resources in its city radius.
