OCC Questions

Hi, just getting into BtS. I was curious about some things tho:

Can you win a cultural victory on OCC based solely on the culture from your one city? I don't think you can but would love to have that option. Any idea as to how much culture would be a good number?

Also, is there anyway to make the AI stop giving me odd quests while playing OCC. Some of the RE/AP stuff seems a just bit off... Maybe this stuff was not throughly vetted for OCC? Opinions?

You can't win culture so your best bet is space race. The quests in OCC are a bug. No way to fix them.

It was a challange for awhile.
Played on a small world, and had fun moving up on the levels. Won some games at immortal and gave up on it.
I'm sure it's harder in BTS since they nerfed the national wonder limit.
It is hilarous watching the AI build cities up against your culture limit. I eliminated about 10 cities through culture one game. 5 turns after one would be destroyed, the AI would build another one.

Well, can anyone tell me how to custom mod to allow culture victory in OCC (with just the one city)? I'm thinking 150K culture should work.

I believe if you hunt around, perhaps in another place, you will find exampes of OCC cultural wins in Vanilla and Warlords. I presume it still works in BtS.

No need for mods, you just need to figure out how to get credit for the culture in other cities....

Apparently I missed this post earlier. One of our CFC HOF participants wrote up a strategy article in regards to OCC games, especially achieving cultural and domination victories. The trick is using Permanent Alliances. I suggest reading it and I don't see why it shouldn't still work with BTS.

I know about the perm alliance thingy. I want to mod so that a single city (MY lone city) can do it.

OK, finally got around to finishing the game. I had just south of 500,000 culture points when the game ended. But that did not get me the win (and I think that's pretty dominant culture). So, again, any thoughts on a good number? And how to mod this into OCC?
