  • forts act as canals?

Never noticed this before, or read anything about it, but it seems to make a little bit of sense:

Able to traverse both ways, pretty neat. Is this new to BtS or just an undocumented feature I never saw/tried?

(also, I know my tech lead is severe, I promise to turn on aggressive AI next time )

Does anyone know if you can build a 2-tile canal with this feature ?

          You can.

The prerequisite is that the fort is connected to water on one side.
So you can build 2 Tile Channels with 2 forts

          FF

and 3 tile channels if you have a city in the middle

          FCF

I tried FCF, and it didn't work - the ship couldn't enter the originally landlocked city.

So canals only work for coastal forts & cities.

I wonder, though, if FCF would work for a city next to a lake and two tiles away from the ocean.
