Other games have been edited especially for a German launch, where nazi insignia and the like have been removed. The same could have been done here.

This has nothing to do with Germany, and more to do with being PC. It goes back to Civ1 where Hitler wasn't in either.

It's just really weird how Stalin can be in when Hitler isn't. Seriously, Stalin's death toll was so much higher than Hitler's.

Someone mentioned Mao wasn't in the game for some reason. Could someone elaborate, i'm not sure as to why he has been removed since Civ1?

Yeah, and Stalin was ethnically Georgian, not Russian, and reputedly stressed this fact by speaking Russian with a heavy Georgian accent. (I know Hitler was Austrian by birth, but he did take German nationality before Anschluss.)

        Huh??

Mao is one of the two leaders of China in Civ 4.

Recently I had Mao split off of Louis XIV as a colony so yeah, he's in there.

But there is also a Chinese-specific version of Civ4, where he is not included (from what I have read).

Was beginning to think I made it up.

Come to think of it... I don't think I've ever played against Mao in Civ4. (That being said I just recently started playing it again when I got a new laptop (Which could actually play the game). So I guess my total number of games is in the <30 area.

                  Of course,
that´s part of the Führers secret plan,
he wants to rule first CFC, then Apolyton
and finally the whole Civilization (4)

OMG... the return of "why no Hitler in Civ" thread.

                    Weird huh?
The Japanese are just weird in general, so no big shock.

Out of curiosity, who is Germany's leader in the WW2 mod?

Actually, I believe it's Mr. Hister.

He's planning a hike, but I don't think he'll have much fun in Stalingrad.

See now why a lot of people made fun of your previous one? And interestingly, just like yours, this thread won't lead anywhere either.

In HOI2 it is Albert Hiller... at least during the 60 seconds while didn't yet finish to install the Germanization mod.
