Getting it to run smooth

Hi
I notice that even on medium settings that the scrolling gets not as smooth the more of the map I uncover.
I know my comp isn't the greatest..Nvidia 6800XT..AMD Athlon 2800+ CPU.....1.28gb of ram....Does anyone else have this happen?

I would still think my comp should do it since I meet the recommended specs.

I guess this is more a problem in BTS because espionage allows you to see more of the map every turn. Still, that's a better computer than I have and I don't run into problems. What map size?

I use standard map size I'm using the latest video drivers

it's not awful but the more mao i show seems to slow it and makes it a little rough

You might try rolling your drivers back to an earlier version. I ran into a similar situation with some ATI drivers awhile back, in vanilla civ. Towards the end of the game the lag was horrible but the problem cleared up when I reverted to an earlier driver.
