religions no longer spread visibility in BtS?

I have the Church of the Nativity in Utrecht, Christianity as my state religion, and several foreign cities with Christianity in them, yet I don't have visibility in those cities.

That's one of the new features. You only find out what's in cities through Passive Espionage - not Religion. See Solver's preview.

I like this change, IMHO those religious holy buildings where too overpowered (giving both lots of gold and lots of visibility), but my first thought when I saw it was that it was some weird bug. I like this new espionage system

I don't have BTS yet, but I do see how that might be a way to take away a bit of the power of Religion and give the new Espionage system something worthwhile.

On the other hand, I liked having sometimes strange views into relatively distant cities because my religion had spread there (passively or thanks to my missionaries). It reduces Religion as a tool of espionage warfare in that respect--convert and then conquer.
