Rush Production & Railroad

1. Rush Production:

How do I rush a production? I am city window and it will not allow me to rush production. I have enought gold to complete the project. The icon for rush production is not active.

2. Railroad:

After I have discovered Railroad Technology, the icon still is not active on my worker. Obviosly I have a road built before instructing my worker to create the rail.


I played Civ & Civ2 but skipped Civ3 thanks to Counterstrike 1.6 & Final Fantasy XI. I really enjoy getting back into Civ4 minus these 2 issues.

Any assistance/suggestion is appreciated.

Rush production is only available under certain civic choices. Rush buy (gold) isn't available until Universal Suffrage, and Rush whip (slave) isn't available until slavery.

Railroad- you probably don't have coal.
