In Civ3 (and 4) at the lowest levels the ai gives you odds.

Indeed, the 'noble' level is pretty much no AI bonuses (it has some bonuses and some negatives, but it's roughly even).

So basically Blake is the new Soren? Who would've thunk it? Sounds like the AI is going the right way, away from boni and toward a more intelligent play. Good work, I will try it as soon as I pick the game up.

It looks like if you have land border with an AI, then that AI will only send their Spies thru that border and you can nullify their entire operation simply by leaving couple of your own Spies along the border.

I don't suppose there's a modifier where the AI could learn to use naval units to transport their Spies around that borderline?

There are modifiers, in the dll I think, that would accomplish that I suspect. Blake would of course be the person to ask there

That's still minor compared to the dumbass AI used to be, zxsun00

              Great work Blake!

                Auto-Workers and Auto-Searchers

Blake, AI was too good for me before, now its even too good for all the family.

I have a question re auto worker and scouts.

It seems we have a schizo-situ where until second culture border pop on a Creative civ, warrior will alternate between two squares (parrallel with border) outside borders for up to 14 turns, or that was until the border pop happened. Are they too afraid to go too far from culture?

Also, I have posted under the CyberShy thread, I have had mine/cottage swapsies with workers like the old farm/cottage swapsie. Something to look into for the auto peeps.

Also scouts and warriors love to search with less than full health whereas in Warlords and Vanilla they would heal before moving if you selected search after the battle. Is this a new feature?

Actually, given how much stronger BetterAI was it would be fairer to say Soren is the old Blake.

Well,a no bonus GC2- level AI is my first request for an added feature. Either that or a mod, unsure how to mod it.

I think the Civ 4 AI is definitely respectable enough that it wouldn't be a complete laughingstock. Civ 4 is more complex then GC2. If they can't do it for this- I'd like this to be a design goal for Civ 5. I think computers are good enough now, and the core concepts of Civ IV good enough, to where this can be done.

I think it is important to state here that the GalCiv2 AI does indeed get a bonus at the higher levels. 'Gifted' AI's and above get a bonus to their economy, up to a 100% at 'Ultimate'.
                      The AI doesn't cheat though.

That's fine, for players who need the extra challenge. The GC2 AI does sorta cheat on tech trades- using a different set of rules then the player, but other then that it doesn't cheat.

                          7EA,
Theoretically maybe the AI doesn't cheat. But on the first turn and every time you reload your game the AI is allowed to have an extra turn to rush buy things as long as funds are available. I'm not sure if this is good or bad.

I believe Stardock said this was fixed in their latest patch.

Is it? I know thyere was a huge debate over it, but I wasn't sure they fixed it yet.

                                I would assume that's a glitch.
