  • Captured Cities don't prompt for build queue

Has anyone else experienced this? I admit I've been away for awhile...so its quite possible this has been discussed already.

When capturing a city, very often you will not be prompted to select something to produce in the city. When in the main view a red line in a circle shows instead of an item being produced.

I know...that should prompt me to go to the city view and select something to build, but you know what? Sometimes I'm lazy player and don't notice that for a few turns.... :P

I've already downloaded the latest update -- is this a known problem?

It has been mentioned before, I remember not where. Something to do with particular option settings.

It's never happened to me, at any rate.

I'll see if I have it right...

In warlords when you capture a city you immediately get asked what to build.

In CIV1.61 when you capture a city it only asks you what to build the turn after it comes out of revolt. Also production is added to the build on the turn the city comes out of revolt, if you had a foresight to assign a build (that's a pretty bad bug in 1.61).

It happens me in fully patched Warlords. It seems to happen, not when you capture a city the hard way but when you are given it as part of a peace settlement.

Yup, and you have to if you want to start whipping (and I'm sure you do) without penalty before people start to starve.

I did not mention this in my OP, but it happens more often when playing a scenario.

and yes, I've had it happen when receiving a city as a peace settlement as well.

I've had it happen when I recaptured a city I previously owned. I think it went German -> Me (popup fine) -> German -> Me (no popup asking what to build)

Hmmm, I set up a game to test the peace settlement theory and was prompted for the build queue.

Maybe it is when you recapture a city, or possibly there are more factors.

It's definitely happened to me more than once and one time that comes to mind was when I was gifted a crappy Siberian city (on an earth map) and only realised many turns later (there was a lot of war going on so I was distracted) that it wasn't building anything!

I only have vanilla. I didn't realize that was a bug, I thought it was a WAD. I'll have to try that out, thanks!
