Weird Trade Issue

This isn't necessarily a problem, just something I noticed that annoyed me and my OCD.

When I make my second city, it is connected to my capitol within the next turn, regardless of whether I have a road connecting the two cities.

Just wondering why this is happening? It's kind of weird, and it's annoying me, although it's convenient.

In addition to connecting by road or railroad, cities can be connected by river with no techs (it might need fishing, but I'm not sure), by coast if you have Sailing, or by ocean if you have Astronomy.
