  • Getting back into Modding.

If I ever get a chance to get back into modding, I would really like to.

Civ4 had a lot of potential for graphical modding, but I hit a few stumps along the way, which ultimately turned me off completely.

I have not kept up to date for well over a year on Civ4 now, and I'm just wondering..

    1. Can the size of tree's be altered now?

    2. I know the size of tiles can be made bigger, but can I make the mountains bigger with it?

    3. Has anyone managed to complete that larger unit size graphic project? I doubt anyone remembers it, but I and some others managed to create a unit with 100 men in it, all in formation and attack on the battlefield as if we were watching a Lord of the Rings movie battle. For me it was history in the making. But it involved a lot of work. I was actually going to see if I could add a feature where you decide the number of men you want in each unit you create, and that unit would show that amount of men - and the more men you had, the more power.. or something along those lines.

    4. I would also like to add new terrains, can this be done yet? (that means keep the current terrains and additional ones)

It's great to have you back.

I've been wondering about one thing that my lack of 3D modelling skills won't let me do: Rails and Roads.
The placing system simplify tiles that are completely rounded by roads, erasing side conections while vertex connection left. This creates a huge problem with rivers, because bridges goes through the side, unconnected. Also roads should be much more straight.

Welcome back Sn00py . Sorry, I don't have any useful answers, though - in any modding and software development, I try to stay the hell away from graphics.
