  • Auto-play without human

    Hi

    Has anyone found a way of getting Civ4 to play with only computer players, ideally with option of a pause between computer player's turn?

    I think this was do-able with CIV2.
    Thanks
    TP

    I suspect that you will be able to do it by modifying .ini file

    In Warlords find the following:

    ; Set App on Auto-Run
    Autorun = 0

    and change it to:

    ; Set App on Auto-Run
    Autorun = 1

    See if that works.

      I don't think so. I think that controls whether the application starts up when you put the disk in the drive.

      What you're looking for, tgwpage, is a way to watch Civ being played, rather in the way that other people watch football or baseball.

      I can't help you.

        Actually, those lines are in the DEBUG section of the .ini file and, having just tried it out, it is a way of getting the game to run automatically.

        I don't know how to get the game to pause at the end of each turn though.

          Revolutions-mod has a way to do this. Just ctrl-shift-x to start, for X-turns, and same to stop. Tried it on Settler, lost rather magnificiently... Not that smart AI.
          I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

              Just edit the ini file back to what it was when you want it to stop!
