Cant see leaders faces and map does not reveal

just bought civ 4 really pissing me off, so confusing. right as you go to pick a player (eg english empire) the face on the leader only shows the teeth and eyes. Another problem, the map that is not shown does not reveal when worker or scout walks over it. please can some 1 help me

What kind of a computer do you have? What graphic card? How muc memory? Etc.

Did you download and install the latest patch?

The video card is the problem, as to be expected. The Intel 852/855 cards do not support T&L, which is a requirement to run Civ4. Sorry to say this, but there are no known cases of Civ4 working with this card, which isn't really surprising.
