all the time, esp as rome. But other civs with early uu's as well. Mongols, even the persians (I usually give extra withdraw so I don't lose most of my attacking force).
In fact, I don't use enough seige units. Actually, I almost never use them.. I don't need to on noble. Winning at that level isn't tough, so I don't need to micromanage wars. I hit fast and hard.

Yes - all time - particularly civ's with early UU's.
And always with Rome!I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Off the top of my head, the only UU that I seldom build is the Cho-Ko-Nu.
I usually attack with a mix of units, unless I have a kick ass early UU."I'm a guy - I take everything seriously except other people's emotions"

There are many civs where you can do an early rush with their UU's. Besides the romans, war charriots can be used... You can even do it with the Incans if you move quick enough. In significant numbers, many will workKeep on Civin'

Played the Inca once on a crowded map, and got XP out of a hut - gave my Quechua city raider promotions... and then stumbled upon Rome; got fair odds against their single defender, took a chance and got the city.
I'd built another Quechua that I sent to defend Rome, and set off with my lone coquerer to explore, only to bump into Moscow very close to Rome... thought, what the heck, and gave it a go despite the not too hot odds... and won!
A three capital start... that's kinda nice.Only the most intelligent, handsome/beautiful denizens of apolyton may join the game :)

If you take out a few barb animals, and can get a city raider bonus and archer bonus, they can take out non promoted archers in citiesHowever, you have only a small window of opportunity for an early rush with them. All it takes is one axman, and you are toast
Keep on Civin'

Actually... Quechua are great early in the game for taking out other people's resourses. It usually takes two warriors to take out a single Quechua. So you can just march them right into people's lands knowing it's going to cost them more to take them out, then it costs you to build them.Keep on Civin'
